CAMDEN BOOSTS ELECKSON BRAND OF SEALED RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES WITH NEW RANGES IN STOCK
Five new ratings have extended the Eleckson Europe brand of sealed, rechargeable lead-acid batteries with ratings of 3.2 and 7.2Ah in 6V for lighting applications and 70, 90 and 100Ah in 12V versions for high power use in UPS (uninterruptable power supplies). Low weight to high power ratio is a feature of the BEL-series batteries. The range spans 6V, 1.3A/h capacity battery which weighs less than 0.33kg and measures 51 x 96.5 x 23.5mm, and at the other end of the scale, the 12V, 100A/h capacity battery weighs 30kg and measures 332 x 168 x 207mm. Standard push-on connectors are used on the lower power products and the higher current batteries come with heavy duty terminals suitable for nut and bolt fastening. Typical battery life is expected to exceed 5-years, under rated operating conditions. These ABS-cased maintenance-free batteries have a low self-discharge and, under standard conditions, has no corrosive gas discharge; this means they can be safely installed in an enclosure without special attention to venting. By utilising AGM-type technology (Absorbent Glass Mat) the design maximises the recombination efficiency of excess charge gasses. The battery has an automatic reset safety valve designed to ensure maximum safety from excess gas build-up and to prevent oxygen penetration, which is likely to damage the cells. The batteries are suited to constant charging, float charging or cyclic use for standby or main power use. Typical applications include emergency alarms & security systems, uninterruptable power supplies, telecommunication and radio equipment, emergency lighting systems, etc. Eleckson Europe, established in 1996, is Europe's newest battery company. WIDE RANGE OF COST-EFFECTIVE, HIGH QUALITY IC AND PLCC SOCKETS LAUNCHED BY CAMDEN ELECTRONICS

New from Camden Electronics is a comprehensive range of cost-effective, high quality IC sockets encompassing dual-in-line (DIL), double and single row pin strips, adaptor sockets and strips and PLCC sockets.

CICS series DIL IC sockets are available from 6 to 64 pins and feature precision turned pins and twist-free construction. These high quality DIL IC sockets are suitable for up to 200 insertions and withdrawals and can be supplied with or without stability cross members so that components can be placed inside the socket if required. Side and end stackable, the low profile sockets' high retention design prevents IC "walkout" during heavy vibrations. Additional features include anti-wicking and high solderability pin design and glass filled polyester UL94-V0 mouldings. Specifications include insulation resistance of 103M at V=100V, temperature range from -55 to +125 C, heat treated beryllium copper contacts, current rating of 3A and insertion/withdrawal forces of <250 and >50g respectively.

CSICS series IC pin strips are available cut to required size in both single and double row configurations up to 40 and 80 poles respectively.

The CIC series dual-in-line adaptor sockets feature male header contacts for connecting to IC sockets and are ideal for sandwich PCB construction. Two pin heights are available namely 10 and 13.7mm. Each type can be supplied in eight different sizes with 14, 16, 18, 20, 24, 28, 32 or 40 pins. A range of adaptor strips is also available featuring male header contacts for connecting to IC sockets, again ideal for sandwich PCB construction. As with the adaptor sockets, these are also supplied in 10 and 13.7mm pin height sizes both with 40 and 80 pin versions.

CPLCC series PLCC sockets are available in seven sizes encompassing 20, 28, 32, 44, 52, 68 and 84 poles in both through hole and surface mount versions. These high quality PLCC sockets are constructed from plastic material that is designed to withstand the high short term temperatures encountered in surface mount reflow soldering applications. Designed to accept JEDEC type A square chips, the PLCC sockets are interchangeable with most popular styles currently available and feature low profile, visual polarisation for easy assembly and stand-offs for cleaning and good dissipation. Specifications include contact resistance of 30m , dielectric strength of 500V AC/60sec, insulation resistance of 1000M minimum at 500V DC, glass filled UL94-V0 thermoplastic housing, phosphor bronze contacts and temperature range from -55 to +110 C.

CAMDEN ELECTRONICS' 36-POLE TERMINAL BLOCKS OFFER IMPROVED QUALITY

Improved PCB terminal blocks featuring professional rising clamp terminals to prevent incorrect cable entry and protect wires from damage are now available from Camden Electronics, the UK's prime source of terminal blocks.

Offering significantly better quality at lower cost than alternative products, the CTB7000 series is supplied in a unique 36-pole strip that can easily be cut to the required number of poles. Moulded in grey UL94-V0 flame retardant Lexan, the terminal blocks can also be supplied pre-cut if required. Features include 5mm pitch, 4mm² cable entry, anti-solder wicking, guided pin alignment and captive screw with a new, stronger, 0.5Nm rated thread. Electrical specifications encompass current rating of 17.5A/380V, dielectric strength 2.5kV, insulation resistance 5M and operating temperature range from -20 to +125 C.

A range of configurations is available including the 7000 series horizontal, the 7050 series 90 type and the 7300 series plug-in for vertical or 90 mounting. This latter series is available with male and female connector types and polarising clips.

CAMDEN ELECTRONICS INTRODUCES FUSED TERMINAL BLOCKS WITH UNIQUE FEATURES AND UL APPROVAL

Two new fused terminal blocks have been introduced by Camden Electronics. The CMFTB series offers the unique ability to accept standard 1in mains or 5 x 20mm glass or ceramic cartridge fuses while the CFTBN fused terminal block is the first of its kind to receive full UL approval.

The CMFTB series is designed for electrical equipment such as heating and ventilating, lighting, security and any power supply circuit requiring easy fuse maintenance and replacement. With its unique ability to accept standard 1in mains or 5 x 20mm glass or ceramic cartridge fuses this new plug-top fused terminal block provides additional flexibility.

Featuring IP-20 finger protection, the CMFTB series is rated at 13A, 250V and comes in single, dual or triple pole types with a dovetail interlocking mechanism to allow addition of extra fuse lines. The polarised fuse carrier and body are UL94-V0 flame retardant with 16mm fixing centres, an anti-rotation spigot and an integrated earthing and locking screw that holds the module in place.

Camden Electronics' CFTBN fused terminal block module is the first of its kind to get full UL approval opening up new markets for the component. The connector simplifies manufacturing of products such as security equipment, emergency lighting, power supplies, luminaires and fluorescent fittings as the terminal strip features an integrated fuse holder. In addition, customising the connector is a simple task enabling users to produce multi-pole fused units thanks to the terminal block's unique interlocking system.

The standard terminal comes with options of single to five-pole terminal strips rated at 440V and a fuse module for a single 5 x 20mm, 13A, 250V fuse, uniquely taking glass or ceramic bodied types. Individual fuse modules can easily be interlocked onto the standard fused part of the block allowing construction of any number of additional fused lines, as required.

Perfect for protecting lighting equipment, power supplies, fire and security systems and domestic control applications, the range has IMQ, SEMKO, FIMKO, DEMKO, VDE and now holds UL approval.

A comprehensive range of fuses and fuseholders featuring international approvals is available ex-stock from Camden Electronics for a wide range of applications.

NEW VERY FAST ACTING MICRO MINIATURE AXIAL FUSES FROM CAMDEN ELECTRONICS

Camden Electronics has introduced a new range of very fast acting micro miniature axial fuses, complementing the company's comprehensive range of fuses and fuseholders.

Ideal for protecting PCB mounted components and circuits, the new CF2470FF series fuses are 2.4 x 7mm microminiature axial types offering electrical characteristics of 5 sec maximum blowing time at 200% and 4 hours minimum blowing time at 100%. There are 34 models in the range offering ratings from 100mA to 10A at 125V. UL approved, the new fuses feature an epoxy coated body and tin plated copper solder leads. Specifications include interrupt current of 50A @ 125V AC, operating temperature range from -55 to +125 C and soldering temperature of 260 C for 10 seconds maximum.
